FANG Wei-Wen

FANG WEI-WEN 方偉文

1970年出生於汶萊，1988年歸入臺灣。私立東海大學美術系畢業，國立臺南藝術大學造形藝術研究所碩士，現定居於臺南。
作品經常以象徵手法描繪家國鄉愁的風景畫，或以言說方式，探討自我身分位置的室內裝置。前者，是他對自我身分的不斷重述;後者是回應了其身分在特定空間所生產的異質經驗。因此，相同的視覺元素，各種破碎的經驗，不斷推延，跳接，穿透，綠合，在差異與斷裂的空間向度，銘刻著對文化身分的異質發聲。作品《寄生寓》和《响响》在不同的語言行為中生產主體自我。《寄生寓》展出的建築（吳園），可說是負載著層層交叠的殖民記憶，也召喚著方偉文多重異質的文化身分。方偉文將現場虚擬成一個觀看遊逛的連拱廊，五根拱柱將《寄生寓》分成五個畫框和四種寄生景象，延伸出他對語言，意識與自我身分等不同面向的思考。

1970 Born in Brunei currently lives in Tainan.
His works often use symbolic techniques to depict landscapes, depicting nostalgia for home and country; Or use language to explore his own identity and position in indoor installations. The former is his constant restatement of his self-identity; the latter is a response to the heterogeneous experience produced by his identity in a specific space. Therefore, the same visual elements and various broken experiences are constantly postponed, jumped, penetrated, and merged. In the spatial dimension of difference and fracture, the heterogeneous voice of cultural identity is engraved.
