The work incorporates the sound created by the vibrations of a filament with the light. As electrical current passes through, the filament vibrates gently and emits light. When the current intensifies, the vibrations increase, causing the filament to strike the transparent glass, producing crisp, ringing sounds. The artist masterfully captures this moment of energy transformation, inviting us to listen closely to the subtle sounds emanating from an everyday object.

Wang Fujui is a leading pioneer of avant-garde digital art and sound art in Taiwan. His practice has long explored the relationship between sound and perception.

Focusing on sound, his works employ simple installation forms, using analog electronic circuits, audio feedback, and oscillation mechanisms to generate continuously evolving noise. These sounds may initially seem irregular or devoid of texture. Yet, through the repetition between noise and silence, our notions of time and space are gradually dismantled and reconfigured, bringing up a new and unpredictable realm conducted by listening.

The artist creates the instruments for sound to emerge without fully control the outcome. Within minimalist visual structures, sound continually shifts in response to space, materials, and electronic signals, guiding viewers away from looking and toward listening, allowing them to experience the unique state in which of sound generated between order and chance.
